April 2022

05 April 2022

April came upon us rather quickly and as time is moving on we are becoming less nomadic and more stopped in one place. With work around the property and vineyard continuing, and now cleaning and garden maintenance of a nearby AirBnB, we have been kept pretty busy. So now we have to think about what we are going to do, if we are going to travel and even if we are going to find a property down here and settle in. April 26 is also our ten year anniversary of nomadic life, so maybe, just maybe, it is time to pull up on permanent travel.

The weather has begun to cool somewhat and of course, it's always raining, because that's what happens in Denmark.

26 April 2022

10 Years ago we started out on this nomadic journey, and it has been a fabulous one. Starting off with a little money in the bank awe ventured off out into the unknown (to us), and here we are. We not only survived but thrived.

We have traveled much of this beautiful country, and yet still have plenty more to see, and we have enjoyed everything about it. But life takes different tracks at various times and we are on the cusp of a change, or so it seems.

So with the last of the grape harvest now over it is time to look at what is next. I have started to learn to make cheese, well, what else do you do when you are staying at a Cheese Factory and Winery? Baby steps, but the first batch made was Brie and then eight different types of Fetta, all of which will be sold in the shop. As a back up to Laurie the head cheesmaker, I will be making cheese with him and his eldest son Jack, who I also prune the grape vines with. This will allow Laurie some time off as Jack and I punch out the cheese for the ever hungry tourists.

Less travel and more of a settled lifestyle for the moment seems to be the way we are headed, and it seems that we are looking at the Denmark Real Estate guide more and more these days. Of course photography will still be on the menu and there might be some more adventures with that soon as well.

The End of this Journal

So, after 10 years on the road it has come to this, the end of this website journal of our life and adventures. It is unlikely that there will be any further updates going forward, even though our travels will continue, but if we change our minds or something else happens then we will post it here.

So in the meantime, thank you for following us over the past 10 years, we have enjoyed bringing this to you, and having you along for the ride. Thank You.

Mark Twain once said "...years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do that by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - and so we will.
